IBC channels refer to the primary makeup of the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol used in the Cosmos ecosystem. IBC is the protocol that allows blockchain applications and APIs to read and understand each other and carry out mutual functions and transactions efficiently and securely. Through IBC tokens can be transferred from one blockchain portal or application to another. IBC also nurses the unique identifiers which is peculiar to every blockchain.
